Preschool Tuition/Support

Preschool Scholarships

BVCS Early Childhood Iowa offers preschool tuition support for children residing in Buena Vista, Crawford, and Sac Counties who are attending a 3-year or 4-year-old preschool program.  Applications will be processed and approved by financial need.

ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Families household income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty level. Scholarships may be available to families below 300% of the Federal Poverty level.
  2. Children attend a 3-year or 4-year-old preschool program.
  3. Preschool must have an agreement on file with the BVCS Early Childhood Iowa office.
  4. Children must turn 3 or 4 by September 15, of the school year submitting the application for.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Parent/Guardian must fill out the Preschool Scholarship Application and return form to the  preschool you wish to attend or the address listed on the application.
  2. Parent/Guardian must attach proof of income – copies  one of the following:
    • paystubs (for a one month time frame),
    • last years tax return (page one and two with social security numbers unreadable),
    • qualify National School Lunch program (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • FIP (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • Child Care Subsidy (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • LiHeap (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • Weatherization (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • WIC (submit proof of approval with your application),
    • Child in Foster Care.
  3. Parent/Guardian may be asked to fill-out a survey at the end of the year provided by BVCS Early Childhood Iowa.

Awards will be made the end of July or first part of August. Preschools will be notified of the award. Parents will be sent information about the tuition award and other services they may be eligible to apply for to receive additional services.
